In a six or seven year period? I started in 2008 or 9 with $1B. I just hit Q1 2015 and my holding company has about $210B in equity (27th largest company). I'm playing on the hardest level. I'd like to get some feedback from other players. I fell in love with the game the first time I played the demo but it doesn't seem like that many people post on these boards.

Also note that all of this money came strictly just from buying and selling stocks, save for a tiny portion coming from industry income and a few billion from shorting stocks.
I control 12 companies at the moment, 11 of them 100% wholly owned. Of those eleven, two are insurance cos, two are banks, and I control - with a 21% interest - a third bank. After reading some things on here, I have been way underutilizing the true power of these institutions. Any explanations of how to better use them would be greatly appreciated.

I think in that time I was up to...1,000,000...I guess I..cheat a little? Buy REL as soon as I start, dump like 8, 900 into REL as a capital contribution, then most of REL's free cash into RELI. Use RELI to buy up small companies with good cash reserves, sell off all the assets and do an extraordinary dividend then sell it off. I'm in..um...2038 right now with something like 5,000,000.

I have done that I think twice, but in my experience it's only worthwhile if you've already suffered large losses. If you haven't any gains seem to be offset by capital gains taxes when you sell off.

Get the free demo and play it. If you don't want to pay for the full version, don't expect to get the full version.. "There are no free lunches". You also have option of not to play this game or of playing other games which you already have.
This game costs only 20$, just get it online, it is worth spending the money.

Getting into the trillions is relatively easy. The game I'm on now I've got about 4 trillion of which most of it is from controlling banks. The trick with banks that I use is selling off their mortgage and consumer loans. Then using that money to play the bond market. An investment in a 2 billion bank when interest rates are high can give you access to 20-100 billion to buy bonds. Then when the interest rates go down you can make a mint. I also go for the major industries once I've got a good cash reserve. Global Telecoms and integrated oil give a good return, but you need to work to stay ahead of the dips in the market.
